OUR STORY
Next Generation Forest Management began as a passion project. Founded in 2001 by Calvin Archibald, P.Eng., the company was created in response to a growing disconnect between landowners and the woodlands they were responsible for. Many people were inheriting family woodlots without the knowledge, and sometimes the proximity, needed to manage them effectively.
With Registered Professional Forester Mark Bannerman joining at the company’s inception, Next Generation built a strong reputation for responsible forestry grounded in science, sustainability, and quality workmanship. As the company grew, local mills came to rely on the team’s consistency and results, which helped expand the commercial side of the business.
Today, Next Generation continues to serve private and commercial central and eastern mainland Nova Scotia, including Crown land harvesting, while maintaining the same commitment to stewardship and operational excellence.
